Spotlight on West London Careers Hub

What is the West London Careers Hub?
The West London Careers Hub has been launched as part of the Government’s Careers Strategy and is one of four new Careers Hubs covering London. We are a group of schools and colleges working together to improve outcomes for all young people. We work in partnership with local businesses and other organisations. Through our partnerships, we aim to ensure that every young person gets the guidance, skills and experiences they need to make an informed decision about their future career path.
The Hub will help schools and colleges link with employers through the Enterprise Adviser Network and Cornerstone Employers. We support students with up-to-date sector information in their area while helping employers connect with potential talent.

What does a Careers Hub do?
Careers Hubs help schools and colleges to develop careers programmes that support national intent and local implementation that is cohesive, connected and progressive. The West London Careers Hub will provide participating schools and colleges with:
– Tailored resources, labour market information and CPD
– Specific support in attaining Gatsby Benchmark standards
– An effective network that identifies and shares best practice and resources
– Substantive links to employers through the Enterprise Adviser Network, and Cornerstone Employers

What’s the benefit of being in a Careers Hub?
Careers Hubs lead partnerships of schools, colleges, Local Enterprise Partnerships, local authorities, businesses, Cornerstone Employers and careers providers. The Hubs will link young people to skills and economic needs in their area through a responsive careers education programme.
Joining a Careers Hub provides schools with an Enterprise Coordinator and matches them to an Enterprise Adviser.
Participating in a Careers Hub will also enable schools and colleges to receive professional guidance in how to develop their careers programme. Through the Hubs, schools can obtain peer-to-peer support, and access to funding and coordinated activity.
