West London Alliance (WLA) is a public sector partnership of seven West London local authorities – Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow – working together to improve lives across the subregion.
We deliver collaborative programmes that cross borough boundaries. Focusing on our priority areas of economy and skills, employment support, social care, and housing, we are working to drive improvements for everyone that lives, works, studies, or invests in West London.

Governance
WLA’s work is driven by leaders and cabinet members from across its local authorities.
Day-to-day programme activity is developed with chief executives and delivered by our Programme Boards. The Programme Boards are made up of director-level representatives from across the WLA boroughs and are responsible for developing business plans.
Over 2 million people live in the WLA Boroughs, with around 40 per cent born outside the UK and 28% having a first language which is not English. Our diversity of communities, neighbourhoods and enterprises is one of our greatest assets and making the most of this to address the challenges we face relies on being open – to people, businesses, growth, new ideas and innovation. We are committed to maintaining our openness and maximising the benefits it brings to everyone that lives, works, learns, visits and invests in West London.

The West London economic prosperity board is a formal joint committee of Leaders or Cabinet Members from the seven West London boroughs, formed in 2015. It provides a collective voice and political leadership of West London’s shared economic growth priorities. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
In response to ongoing inequalities and social injustices, WLA and its seven member boroughs have renewed their commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion across all communities. This includes addressing the challenges faced by residents from Black, Asian, and other Ethnic Minority backgrounds, as well as tackling discrimination related to gender, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, and socio-economics.
The WLA supports this work through the West London Equalities Steering Group, which brings together diverse representation from across our boroughs. We work in alignment with London Councils to ensure our local efforts contribute to broader pan-London progress.
Our Equalities Statement outlines our priorities for the coming year, including embedding anti-racist practices, supporting LGBTQ+ inclusion, advancing gender equity, and ensuring our services are accessible and inclusive for all. We recognise that meaningful change requires collaboration, transparency, and sustained action, and we remain committed to building a fairer, more inclusive West London.
