23 Mar No Wrong Door for skills and employment support: West London Hub launched

In 2022 the Mayor of London provided funding as part of the London Recovery Programme, for each of the 4 London sub-regional partnerships to deliver an ‘integration hub’. The aim for the hub was to tackle the significant fragmentation of the skills and employment support system, ensuring that residents can access the right support at the right time. The aim is to get residents into work through understanding the experience of key consumer groups, in engaging with the skills and employment support system. Through this we’d be able to identify, and deliver practical ways to improve the user journey, and create more awareness of the skills and employment support offered locally.

To deliver this, we launched an online hub in January 2023, which is for professionals working in the skills and employment support sector in West London. Pages – Home (wlesh.co.uk)

How does the West London Employment and Skills Hub work?

The hub works by skills and employment support providers uploading their training/courses/support offering to the site to create a sub-regional directory of all provision available for our residents. This provision is then searchable by employment/careers advisors, helping them to find the most appropriate provision for their clients as quickly as possible.

What type of provision is listed on the hub?

We are working with all 7 West London Boroughs, all the FE colleges in West London, plus employment support specialists like Shaw Trust and Ingeus to get their offering onto the hub. Alongside these large organisations, we also have many independent training providers, charities, voluntary and community organisations listing their provision on the hub.
