Job description

These roles will sit within the West London Alliance’s Commissioning Alliance (CA).

The CA is an innovative local authority partnership that supports the commissioning of services across adult social care, children’s social care and housing. In response to COVID-19 we also led the pan-London procurement of PPE. Our membership is continuing to grow but currently extends to 34 local authorities across London and South East England. The CA is part of the WLA, which is hosted by Ealing Council and all staff are employed directly by Ealing Council.

Our service supports member local authorities to become more intelligent customers, supporting them to capture and then utilise data. This role will support local authorities to identify issues/opportunities and then act upon them e.g. developing new procurements; re-designing services or undertaking market engagement.

The role will be varied but your focus will be supporting the commissioning of services for looked after children. In the role you will be developing and leading projects on behalf of our membership, as well as supporting our operational delivery team with managing the care market on a day-to-day basis.

Local government experience or detailed knowledge of the care market is not essential. We want the right candidate who has the core skills required. You must be an effective communicator with an ability to form good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; you need to be analytical and have excellent project management skills.

We fully support flexible working. Furthermore, a significant portion of the role can be undertaken remotely. We commit to invest in our staff and support career development. We are really proud of the work we do and look forward to growing our team with others who want to make a difference. This role is subject to Ealing Council’s vetting process.
