Job description
The West London Alliance (WLA) is a strategic partnership of seven West London local authorities – the London Boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow – and is one of four such sub-regional partnerships in London. We are hosted by Ealing Council and all WLA employees will be employed directly by Ealing Council.
The Commissioning Alliance (CA) delivers the WLA’s Health and Care Programme. It is an innovative local authority partnership that supports the commissioning of services across adult social care, children’s social care and housing. In response to COVID-19 we also lead the pan-London procurement of PPE. Our membership is continuing to grow but currently extends to 34 local authorities across London and South East England. The CA is part of the West London Alliance, which is itself hosted by Ealing Borough Council.
We are seeking a Communications & Marketing Lead to help drive our ambitious growth plans. The successful candidate will be key in promoting our services and highlighting our achievements to potential members, as well as existing stakeholders, and the role is therefore critical to our future success.
Local Government experience is not essential. We want the right candidate who has the core skills required. You must be an effective communicator with an ability to form good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Experience of working in a commercial environment would be beneficial.
We fully support flexible working. Furthermore, a significant portion of the role can be undertaken remotely. We commit to invest in our staff and support career development. We are really proud of the work we do and look forward to growing our team with others who want to make a difference.
This role is subject to Ealing Council’s vetting process.
For more information or an informal conversation, please contact Jonny Woodthorpe, Head of Commissioning & Service Development: WoodthorpeJ@ealing.gov.uk.

This position is for a fixed period of 18 months. External candidates will be offered a fixed-term contract and existing Ealing Council employees will be offered the opportunity of a secondment. LBE employees must ensure a secondment release form is signed by their line manager before applying and emailed by the application closing date to: HRSSC-RecruitmentTeam@ealing.gov.uk
