Three Years Fixed Term Contract or Secondment Opportunity
The Commissioning Alliance are embarking on a pan London housing standards & inspection service which will regularly inspect Temporary Accommodation, initially consisting of Bed & Breakfasts and Studio Apartments which are used to house vulnerable people / families. The aim of this service is to ensure quality across the sector and to ensure the standard of accommodation meets minimum standards. This is a new programme being established by 31 London Boroughs – instigated by the London Housing Directors’ Group and delivered by the Commissioning Alliance. As an STS Inspection Officer, you will need to provide a service to London’s Temporary Accommodation Sector that makes a real difference to residents’ lives by ensuring that housing conditions and management in residential accommodation are of a satisfactory standard. It will be vital to develop and maintain relationships with individual Local Authorities and Providers/landlords.
Applicants should have experience in the inspection of housing and assessment of management standards, ideally from an Environmental Housing background or similar.
The role is envisaged as a full-time post of up to 35 hours, with scope for some flexibility. Secondments are welcome. This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.
