Economy

The West London Alliance boroughs are committed to driving inclusive, sustainable economic growth, benefiting West Londoners and the whole UK economy. With a GVA above £70bn, West London’s economy is bigger than those of Birmingham and Manchester combined. Assets such as Heathrow, the Elizabeth Line, and soon HS2 make West London arguably the world’s most connected place, and our vibrant industrial clusters, top universities and diverse population make West London a great place to work and invest. But research shows that West London has much further to go to achieve its full economic potential.

Shared Growth Priorities

WLA’s economic projects and programmes bring together the seven boroughs and a host of public and private sector partners to take forward our shared growth priorities. These include:

The Board provides direction to the West London Growth Directors who have responsibility for delivering the Vision for Growth at both a strategic and an operational level, in partnership with the business community, investors, London and national government.
